Feature on Brooke Chancey Part of Wednesday's GatorZone
Tuesday, October 25, 2011 | Soccer
Wednesday's edition of GatorZone includes a feature on senior Brooke Chancey (Jacksonville, Fla./St. John's Country Day). The GatorZone television show airs Wednesday, Oct. 26 on Sun Sports (Gainesville/Ocala Cox Cable channel 48 or 1048) at 5:30 p.m. The show replays on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. and Monday, Oct. 31 at 2 a.m.
Chancey made her first collegiate start in the 2010 Southeastern Conference Tournament final where she registered a complete game shutout as UF won 1-0. She turned in her collegiate-high of six saves at Kansas in September. The challenges facing a goalkeeper appeals to her adventurous nature, as Chancey also is a motocross and skateboard competitor. She is set to graduate this December with a degree in psychology.
A share of the 2011 SEC title is on the line Friday when No. 18 Florida faces No. 22 South Carolina. USC is guaranteed a share of its first SEC title with its 8-2 league record. Florida needs a win Friday to claim a share of its sixth consecutive SEC title.
Match time is set for 7 p.m. this Friday at the James G. Pressly Stadium. Admission is free for all Gator regular-season matches. Friday's match also airs live on FS-Florida (Gainesville/Ocala Cox Calbe channel 70 or 1070).
