Thursday, October 27, 2011 | Football, Scott Carter
The Florida-Georgia game is less than 48 hours from kickoff. I'm heading over to Jacksonville in the morning to attend the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Luncheon.
Former Gators Kevin Carter and Nat Moore are being inducted for their contributions to the rivalry.
Meanwhile, I will have more content on GatorZone.com previewing the game before Saturday. For now, here are some links covering the game and other topics around Gator sports:
--The Gators have not forgotten The Stomp that rekindled Georgia-Florida rivalry writes Mike DeRocco of the Florida-Times Union.
--The Gators simplified their defensive playbook during the bye week to tighten up the unit's performance writes Florida Today.
--Gators coach Will Muschamp seeks his first win in the Florida-Georgia rivalry after going 0-4 as a player at Georgia writes the Associated Press (via WashngtonPost.com).
--Not that the Gators should need any extra motivation, but if they do, Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray spent last weekend as a Florida State fan writes the Columbus (Ga.) Ledger-Enquirer.
--Georgia is preparing for all of Florida's quarterbacks writes DawgNation on ESPN.com.
--Martin Fennelly of The Tampa Tribune writes that Florida-Georgia still matters regardless of records.
--The Gators are making the grades in the classroom. Florida's GSR (Graduation Success Rate) in 13 0f 16 sports is equal to or higher than those of the NCAA's overall rates according to the Gainesville Sun.
--Gators DT Dominique Easley is expected to play vs. Georgia but there are lingering legal issues for him to tackle it appears according to the Sun.
--Gators DE/LB Ronald Powell is motivated by his struggles writes The Orlando Sentinel.
--Here is a story I wrote for GatorZone.com earlier on soccer player Erica Tymrak, who takes a beating but literally keeps on ticking.
