Coach Troy Assessed the Offseason, Previewed this Weekend's All-Florida Invitational
University of Florida head coach Gregg Troy addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
Troy recapped the offseason and said that many people on the team trained and swam internationally, probably doing so better than ever before. Troy discussed the men's team and saw good things from the freshman class so they have a promising future, while there are holes on the women's team that need to be filled by sophomores stepping up. Troy said that the men's team should be very successful and can go a long way if some of the freshman can step up in the relay and it is all about seeing how pieces can be put together as things develop during the season.
The men's & women's swimming and diving teams play host to the All-Florida Invitational, Oct. 7-9. This is the season-opening event for both squads, which finished fifth and seventh, respectively, at the 2010 NCAA Championships.
