
Gator Duo Recognized For Week 9 Performances

A pair of Gators were honored by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) for their efforts in week nine. Jeff Demps (Winter Garden, Fla.) and Jordan Reed (New London, Conn.) were both recognized for the their stellar play in the game against Georgia.
The goal of the CFPA is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
Demps, who had his first career kickoff return for a touchdown, was awarded National Kickoff Returner of the Week honors by the CFPA. The speedster took a kick 99 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter to give the Gators a quick 14-3 lead. Demps also added a career long reception of 72 yards on the team's first possession of the game.
The CFPA also awarded Reed with National Tight End of the Week honors after he set a career high with 69 yards receiving. Reed caught his first touchdown pass of the season, a 31-yard catch midway through the first quarter, en route to a four-catch performance.
The Gators will next see the field Nov. 5th at home against Vanderbilt at 12:21 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
