Coach Burleigh Evaluated the Weekend's Performance, Previewed SEC Tournament

University of Florida head coach Becky Burleigh addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
After the Gators lost a game against South Carolina on Friday night that could have earned them a share of the SEC Championship, Burleigh gave credit to a tough South Carolina team that played well. Despite the Gators being hurt by injuries prior to the game and early on in the game, Burleigh said they hung in there after starting tentative as the result of a psychological hurdle from being down 1-0 early.
Burleigh liked how the team responded in practice yesterday as they started with long faces, but by the end they had turned a corner and had a different tone from when they began.
The Gators open the SEC Tournament again Georgia and Burleigh feels that playing against good team on a neutral field is a good way to be able to start fresh.
Florida (14-6, 7-4) is the No. 4 seed for the Southeastern Conference Soccer Tournament next week at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala. The Gators meet No. 5 seed Georgia at 8:30 p.m. in the opening round of play on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
