University of Florida head coach Becky Burleigh addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
The Gators defeated Florida Gulf Coast 3-0 over the weekend in first round NCAA Tournament action and Burleigh said that they knew it wasn't going to be easy especially in an NCAA Tournament game with only one week to prepare for. FGCU hung tough after giving up an early goal, but the Gators put the game away with two goals in the second half.
UCF will be a tough second round opponent for the Gators as the games between the two teams are always played close and there is some familiarity between the two, which should make things interesting. Burleigh said that it is all about focusing on the process that makes Florida successful and if they focus on the game and not the bracket or future games, then they should be fine.
Florida, a No. 2 region seed, plays host to UCF on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
