Gators safety Josh Shaw and defensive end Lynden Trail plan to transfer.

Florida head coach Will Muschamp announced the news on Tuesday afternoon.
“We wish Lynden and Josh the best of luck in the future and we certainly appreciate their contributions to the football program,” Muschamp said.
A redshirt freshman, Shaw played in 10 games this season and finished with 22 tackles and one pass breakup. He made his only start at Auburn and played primarily on special teams and in a reserve role.
He missed the Furman game on Nov. 19 to return to his California home to spend time with his ailing grandfather.
“I have enjoyed my time at Florida but I feel like I need to be closer to my family right now,” said Shaw, who is from Palmdale, Calif. “This is not a football decision, this is a family decision. I need to be with my family.”
Meanwhile, Trail is hoping to find playing time at another school after being unable to crack the lineup with the Gators.

Trail never appeared in a game at Florida after signing with the Gators in 2010 out of Booker T. Washington High in Miami.
“I have decided that I would like to pursue opportunities elsewhere,'' Trail said. “I want to thank the fans and Gator Nation for their support. I'll always be a Gator at heart.''
Also, redshirt junior offensive lineman David Young, who appeared in all 12 regular-season games, recently informed coaches that he is skipping his final year of eligibility.
Young is set to graduate soon and participated in Senior Day prior to Saturday's game against Florida State.
