
Florida Football Signs Junior College Player Damien Jacobs

The University of Florida football team has signed junior college player Damien Jacobs, head coach Will Muschamp announced on Wednesday. Jacobs is expected to enroll in January and participate in all spring football activities.
Jacobs, a defensive tackle from East Mississippi Community College, was a part of the team that won the 2011 NJCAA Football Championship Game over Arizona Western College. Listed at 6'4” and 310 pounds, he totaled 47 tackles, 8 tackles-for-loss, 4 QB hurries, 2 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries this season for the Lions. A native of Houma, La., Jacobs attended H.L. Bourgeois High School, where he was a three-star prospect coming out of high school. He originally committed to Florida State in 2010 but never enrolled and spent the past two seasons at EMCC.
