Gator Baseball Announces Sun Sports/FOX Sports Florida TV Schedule

The University of Florida baseball program and head coach Kevin O'Sullivan on Wednesday released its 2011 television schedule of games that will be carried on its regional sports network partner, Sun Sports/FOX Sports Florida. In addition, at least 26 contests will be carried on GatorVision Online, a live streaming video and audio service available through GatorZone.com.
The Gators' first television appearance of the season through the package will take place on Friday night, when they open the campaign against USF at McKethan Stadium. The television schedule for O'Sullivan's club features six games against Sunshine State rivals and five contests against SEC competition. Visits to Gainesville by defending national champion South Carolina (March 26 & 27) and Kentucky (May 20 & 21) will be aired, as will the second game of the series at LSU (April 19). Non-conference matchups with Florida Atlantic (Feb. 22 in Jupiter), Miami (Fla.) (March 5 & 6 in Gainesville) and Florida State (March 15 in Gainesville and March 29 in Jacksonville) will also be shown.
The GatorVision Online schedule will begin on opening night, Feb. 18, when USF visits to raise the curtain on the 56-game regular season. All three games of the series between the Gators and Bulls will be carried on-line. Other non-league opponents in the package for subscribers include Boston College (Feb. 25 & 27), Miami (Fla.) (March 4-6), Florida State (March 15) and UCF (April 5).
Encounters with SEC rivals LSU (March 19 & 20), South Carolina (March 25-27), Tennessee (April 3), Mississippi State (April 8 &10), Alabama (April 22 & 24), Ole Miss (April 29-May 1), Arkansas (May 5-7) and Kentucky (May 19 & 20) will be available too. Florida captured the 2010 SEC title, its 11th league crown in school history, with a program-best 22-8 league mark and claimed nine of the 10 league series. In addition, the Gators won the SEC Eastern Division title for the second-straight year, their first time earning back-to-back divisional flags since the squad collected three in a row from 1996-98. UF then advanced to the NCAA College World Series in Omaha, Neb., for the first time in five years after sweeping the Regional and Super Regional rounds on its own turf and finished with an overall mark of 47-17.
