Sporting News ranks UF's baseball team No. 1 and points out interesting fact

The ritual has been the same for me for 30 years now.
Each spring, even in the age of the Internet and Baseball Prospectus and tons of online content, I still make sure to pick up a printed copy of the Sporting News Baseball Preview magazine.
I added the 2011 edition to my collection over the weekend. This year's regional cover features Rays pitcher David Price and Marlins right-hander Josh Johnson on the cover.
While the majority of the magazine is dedicated to the major leagues, Sporting News has expanded its college coverage in recent years.
And which school is at the top of Sporting News' Top 25? Florida.
It's the second preseason No. 1 ranking for the Gators from a national publication. Baseball America also ranks Florida No. 1 in its preseason poll.
Sporting News points out an interesting fact in its preview of the Gators: There are only two schools that own NCAA championships in all three major sports (football, men's basketball and baseball).
The Gators have three football titles (2008, 2006, 1996) and two men's basketball championships (2007, 2006). They have a team that many think can deliver the school's first baseball national title this year.
This is the point where I could say check out the magazine to find out what two schools already have won the triple crown, but that wouldn't be very nice of me.
So, without further adieu ... Ohio State and Michigan are the only schools with national titles in the Big 3.
Over the next few months we'll get to see if Florida can join the two Big 10 schools. The Gators open the season at home Feb. 18 vs. USF.
