Florida Soccer Sets Program Record with 19 on SEC Academic Honor Roll

Nineteen members of the University of Florida soccer team were named Wednesday to the 2010 Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll by league commissioner Mike Slive. The 2010 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2010 Spring, Summer and Fall terms. Florida shares the SEC's high number of 2010 women's soccer honorees with South Carolina.
Florida's soccer team, which claimed its fifth consecutive SEC title last fall, sets a program record for the second consecutive season. The previous high of 18 honorees came in the 2009-10 academic year.
The following criteria must be met by a student-athlete to be recognized on the SEC Academic Honor Roll:
· have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution
· be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship
· have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution
· have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment
