UF Softball's Lipton Invitational Schedule Update
Sunday, March 6, 2011 | Softball
Due to an early morning weather delay caused by rain in the Gainesville area, several adjustments have been made to the final day of UF softball's Lipton Invitational. Play is slated to start at 12:30 p.m. (ET) with the first match-up between Syracuse and Valparaiso. Shortly following at 2:45 p.m. (ET), the Gators will re-match with North Dakota State.
Gator fans can keep track of UF's game against the Bison through the live video feed provided by GatorVision by visiting GatorZone.com or GatorVision.tv.
Saturday, the No. 2/3 Florida squad defeated NDSU, 18-0, in a five inning game that saw the Orange and Blue draw a program-record 18 walks. Florida's five-inning shutout against North Dakota State marked the 10th time the Gators have blanked an opponent this season and the sixth time in 2011 that UF has shortened a game to five innings by run rule.
Florida will be going for school history Sunday as the team aims to tie a program record with 19 wins to open a season, last achieved with head coach Tim Walton's 2008 squad.
