
Parsons and Walker Named to NABC All-District Team

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men's basketball senior forward Chandler Parsons (Casselberry, Fla.) and junior guard Erving Walker (Brooklyn, N.Y.) have been named National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District selections. Parsons picked up District 21 First-Team honors, while Walker received Second-Team recognition.
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 245 student-athletes, from 24 districts, are eligible for the State Farm Coaches' Division I All-America teams, to be announced on Saturday, April 2, at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston during the NABC Convention and NCAA® Final Four®.
The honor comes to Parsons, who is averaging 11.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game, a day after he became the first Gator to win Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.
Walker led the Gators in scoring at 14.5 points per game and topped 100 assists for the second straight season.
Florida returns to the court Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the 2011 SEC Tournament. The Gators will take on the winner of Thursday's Arkansas-Tennessee contest, slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
