GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators took a break from practice and games on Monday night for the Second Annual Florida Letterman Awards.
UF's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the awards show at the Phillips Center on campus. Think UF's version of the ESPY Awards that ESPN puts on each year.
So who were the big winners at The FLAs? Check out the list below:
Mr. and Miss Orange and Blue: Christian Taylor (men's track and field) and Megan Bush (softball)
Teams of the Year: 2010 women's swimming and diving (NCAA champions); 2010 men's indoor track and field (NCAA champions)
Athlete of the Year: Conor Dwyer (men's swimming & diving) and Christian Taylor (men's track and field); Mariam Kevkhishvili (women's track & field)
Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Max Lang (men's track and field); Rebekah Zaiser (gymnastics)
Performance of the Year: Conor Dwyer (NCAA men's swimming meet) and Gray Horn (SEC men's decathlon); Charlotte Browning (NCAA women's track meet)
Academic Teams of Year: Men's golf and women's gymnastics
Play of the Year: Shara Stafford and Gemma Spofforth (200 free at 2010 NCAA Championships); Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey, Terrell Wilks and Jeremy Hall (4X100 men's relay 2010 NCAA Outdoor national champions)
Rookie of the Year: Austin Maddox (baseball) and Ashanee Dickerson (gymnastics)
Comeback Athlete of the Year: McKenzie Barney (soccer) and Tommy Toledo (baseball)
