The Florida men's basketball team will face Stetson at Amway Center in Orlando on Nov. 28 for the Florida Citrus Sports Shootout, Florida Citrus Sports announced on Thursday. Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 21 via Ticketmaster.com, while Florida Citrus Sports members and past Shootout ticket purchasers will have an opportunity to purchase in advance.
"We are excited to bring another college basketball event to Orlando, particularly one that puts the spotlight on two local institutions," said Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan. "The energy and atmosphere of a collegiate event is unmatched, and we have no doubts the Amway Center will be packed with fans of both schools."
Florida holds an all-time 51-14 edge in the series with Stetson, including 16 straight wins for the Gators. UF is 9-0 against the Hatters under head coach Billy Donovan, including the most recent meeting, a 74-46 Florida win to open the 2009-10 season. The upcoming matchup will mark the first neutral-site meeting in series history. The game will also mark Florida's third in Orlando since the 2008-09 season (Missouri-Kansas City on Nov. 30, 2008, and UCF on Dec. 1, 2010).
Florida now has two of its non-conference games set with a trip to Syracuse already slated for Dec. 2 as part of the Big East/SEC Challenge.
