Former Gators cornerback Janoris Jenkins will continue his career at North Alabama.
The school announced Jenkins has been accepted and will play his senior season for North Alabama coach Terry Bowden, who has offered second chances to several Division I players in his three years at the Division II program, including former Florida State receiver Preston Parker.
Jenkins, considered Florida's top defensive back, parted ways with UF following a meeting with Gators coach Will Muschamp in April after his second arrest in three months.
In other football news, former Gators quarterback Danny Wuerffel continues to recover after a recent hospital stay for Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
Wuerffel says he is "getting a little bit better each day,'' according to a message he posted on Desire Street Ministries' website.
