Former Florida Gator Chandler Parsons was selected 38th overall by the Houston Rockets in Thursday's NBA Draft at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
He is the 32nd all-time Florida player taken in the NBA Draft and the 14th Gator selected during the tenure of head coach Billy Donovan.
During his senior campaign, the versatile 6-foot-10 forward earned SEC Player of the Year honors with an 11.3 scoring average, while leading the Gators in rebounding (7.8 per game) and assists (3.8 per game). For his career, Parsons scored 10.2 points per game.
He is second in school history with 3,964 minutes, tied with classmate Alex Tyus for second all-time with 142 games played and ninth in Gator annals with 859 career rebounds.
Parsons is the first Gator selected in the draft since the Minnesota Timberwolves chose Nick Calathes in the second round of the 2009 draft, subsequently trading his rights to the Dallas Mavericks.
