
Florida's Alexander Named Finalist for Dave Williams Award

Florida Men's Golf head coach Buddy Alexander was named a finalist for the Dave Williams Award, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced this week. The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in Division I men's golf.
In addition to Alexander, the finalists include Ryan Donovan of San Diego State, UCLA's Derek Freeman, Mark Hankins of Iowa, Georgia Tech's Bruce Heppler, J.T. Higgins of Texas A&M, Oklahoma State's Mike McGraw, Brad McMakin of Arkansas, Alabama's Jay Seawell, Colin Sheehan of Yale, Mike Small of Illinois and Liberty's Jeff Thomas.
Alexander was named SEC Coach of the Year after leading his team to the SEC Championship and recording four more team tournament wins—the most since his 2004 squad.
He has been named SEC Coach of the year eight times and GCAA Coach of the Year twice.
