GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two-time NCAA men's swimming champion Brett Fraser (George Town, Cayman Islands) was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America® Men's At-Large Third Team, announced Tuesday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Fraser is the 14th UF male swimmer to be selected to the team and the 11th under current head coach Gregg Troy.
“I would like to sincerely thank everyone that has surrounded me the past four years with their support,” Fraser said. “Without that support from my family, coaches, teammates and UF, this would not have been possible. Receiving an academic All-America honor solidifies my aspirations I had for my senior year at Florida.”
Fraser was named to the third team for the first time in his career after notching a 3.43 GPA in finance. The three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection wrapped up his collegiate career this past March by capturing two national titles at the 2011 NCAA Championships. Last season, the 2011 NCAA postgraduate scholarship recipient was named to the District III At-Large Team.
