
Yeguete Helps France into Quarterfinals at FIBA U20 European Championships

Florida basketball rising sophomore Will Yeguete (Bourdeaux, France) has helped France into the quarterfinals of the FIBA U20 European Championships in Bilbao, Spain. The team has posted a 6-0 record through the opening rounds of group play, one of two teams to do so (Spain). Yeguete is averaging 5.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in a starting role for the French squad.
As the first-place finisher in Group E, France is slated to face the fourth-place team from Group F in the quarterfinal round at 8 a.m. Eastern on Friday, looking to make a run into Saturday's semifinals and Sunday's championship game.
Yeguete had his highest scoring output with 11 points in a 79-55 preliminary-round win over Sweden and has contributed four points in each of the other five games. In France's opener, the 6-foot-7 Yeguete secured eight rebounds, which tied for the team lead, in a 49-33 defeat of Croatia.
Yeguete averaged 1.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in 31 games as a freshman for the Gators.
