
Yeguete, France Claim Bronze Medal at FIBA U20 European Championships

Florida basketball rising sophomore Will Yeguete (Bourdeaux, France) averaged 6.2 points and a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game as a starter on France's U20 team at the FIBA European Championships in Bilbao, Spain, helping the team to a bronze medal.
The French squad posted an 8-1 record, breezing through group play with an undefeated 6-0 record, and suffered its lone loss to Italy in the semifinals before bouncing back for a 66-50 win over Russia in the bronze medal game. Yeguete posted his highest scoring output of the tournament with 13 points in the quarterfinal win over Germany. He shot .388 (19-49) from the floor and averaged 1.1 steals and 1.0 assist per game.
Yeguete was one of two Gators playing internationally this summer as Patric Young (Jacksonville, Fla.) competed for the USA in the FIBA U19 World Championships in June.
