
Vilar? Aragones Named Best Forward at U18 European Championships

University of Florida women's basketball freshman Andrea Vilar? Aragones (Barcelona, Spain) was named the “Best Forward” at the U18 European Championships, when the Eurobasket.com All-European Championships U18 Awards were announced today.
Vilar? Aragones led her native Spain to a third-place finish at the event, dropping a heartbreaking 65-63 decision to eventual-champion Belgium in the semifinals before rocking Sweden, 85-69.
Of the six individual awards handed out at the Eurobasket.com All-European Championships U18, Vilar? Aragones was the only player not from the championship team.
Vilar? Aragones also earned a spot on the five-player First Team for the event.
Vilar? Aragones started each of Spain's nine games and averaged 11.1 points – second-most on the team, while playing a team-high 25.6 minutes per game. The 5-foot-10 forward also collected 3.0 rebounds, dished 2.2 assists and snared 1.4 steals during the tournament.
