
VIDEO: Meet New Strength and Conditioning Coach Rich Jacobs

This latest video introduces the newest member of the Gator team – strength and conditioning coordinator Rich Jacobs.
Rich stepped away from his training of the team for a moment and talked about his philosophy and expectations for the Gators.

Rich Jacobs at a Glance
Strength & Conditioning Coordinator
Responsibilities: Designs and implements year-round strength, speed and conditioning workouts for the Gator women's basketball, women's tennis and women's golf teams; guides each student-athlete through an individual training program designed to enhance strength as well as explosive power, speed, agility, endurance, coordination, balance and flexibility.
Joined UF Staff: July 2011
Prior to UF: Immediately prior to assuming his position at UF, Jacobs trained student-athletes at Xavier as an assistant strength & conditioning coach, helping the teams he trained win six conference championships. Also during his career, he worked in the strength & conditioning department at Michigan State at a graduate assistant and at Northwestern University as an assistant/intern. Jacobs has penned several published features and articles relating to his field that have appeared in NSCA Journal of Strength and Conditioning and in Training & Conditioning.
Education: Ball State University (Bachelor's 2000); Michigan State Univ. (Master's 2007)
Certifications: CSCCa- Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified; NSCA- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist; NASM- Performance Enhancement Specialist; ACSM- Health/Fitness Instructor; AED/CPR Certified
