Tuesday, August 23, 2011 | General
The University Athletic Association Inc., (UAA) is proud to announce the creation of a student spirit group that unites and rewards UF students with points and various prizes when they attend home Gator athletic events. The Rowdy Reptiles ®, presented by State Farm™, will serve as the official student group of Florida athletics for the 2011-2012 season. The Rowdy Reptiles name has always been synonymous with great student support for the Florida Gators and will continue to do so through the Rowdy Reptiles student rewards program.
The Rowdy Reptiles is for UF students only (those pursuing undergraduate, advanced and professional degrees) and is free to join. UF students can join the group by attending pre-determined events and at that time will begin accumulating points. To accumulate points, students must scan their valid Gator1 I.D. during check-in times.
Begin your Rowdy Reptiles' membership Friday at the Florida Volleyball match vs. Boston College. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m. in the O'Connell Center. The system allows UF students who attend events to receive points allocated for each sport. UF students who compile Rowdy Reptile points can receive various prizes including a group t-shirt, a Florida hat, a Florida Gator jacket and behind the scenes tours of Gator athletic facilities. Members are informed of their point status by visiting the Rowdy Reptiles page or sending us an email. The point system, prize levels and the 2011 Fall calendar of events can also be found by visiting the Rowdy Reptiles page.
Members of the Rowdy Reptiles follow the same event admission rules as other UF students. All regular-season home athletic events with the exception of Gator Football that are ticketed are free for UF students with a valid Gator1 I.D. UF students attending Gator Men's Basketball games must register for games and maintain at least one UF credit hour in order to be eligible to attend. UF students who do not register will line up in the “un-registered” line and will be allowed into the O'Connell Center at tip-off, based on availability.
