
Seventeen UF Student-Athletes to Participate In Summer Commencement

Among the University of Florida graduates walking across the stage this weekend to receive their diplomas are 17 current and former Gator student-athletes. UF's summer commencement ceremonies, which will take place Saturday, Aug. 6, according to college assignment.

The Florida football team has five set to receive their degrees this weekend. Three from men's track & field, a pair from both the men's swimming and women's track & field teams will each receive their degrees, while men's tennis, women's basketball, women's golf, softball and volleyball will see one student-athlete graduate apiece on Saturday.
Among the Gator graduates are two who claimed NCAA event titles while wearing the orange & blue. Brett Fraser concluded his Gator career with a pair of NCAA titles (200 freestyle and 800 free relay) at the 2011 NCAA Championships. He also was named a recipient of the NCAA post-graduate scholarship this spring. Ryan Lochte, who picked up the 2006 and 2005 NCAA Swimmer of the Year honors and just last week led all competitors with five gold medals at the World Championships, picked up six NCAA individual and one NCAA relay title as a Gator.
