Senior Deana Allen posted another blog entry on the team's official website – www.CoachAmandaButler.com.
Deana, a 5-foot-9 guard from Houma, La., is pursuing a degree in anthropology.
She came into her own during the last five games of the 2010-11 season – her first with the Gators – when she averaged 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds, while dishing 15 assists with seven steals.
She brings great athleticism and a high basketball I.Q. to the court.
During the 2010-11 season, Deana appeared in all 35 games, earned 16 starts, scored in 32 games and collected at least one rebound in all except one game, with a career-best 13 at Georgia (Jan. 16, 2011). She was UF's third-leading scorer in SEC games with 8.6 points and third-leading rebounder (4.9 rpg), while averaging 24.1 minutes compared with 3.1 points and 11.2 minutes in non-conference games.
In UF's two SEC Tournament games, Deana tied for team-high in scoring (12.5 points) and rebounding (6.0 rpg).
Deana wanted to share some of her adventures throughout her senior season at UF and her blog can be read on www.CoachAmandaButler.com. From the main page of the website, scroll down to the bottom right section of the page to see her BLOG and enjoy!
