Gator Football On Breakfast With The Gators To Have New Look

The University of Florida's football replays on Sun Sports' Breakfast with the Gators will have a new look in 2011, Sun Sports and IMG announced on Friday. The Gators' radio broadcast, featuring the Voice of the Gators Mick Hubert, color analyst Lee McGriff, and sideline reporter Brady Ackerman, will be integrated into the telecasts of the games, starting with the replay of the Gators' season-opener versus FAU.
Making this change will allow Sun Sports to invest in additional Gator programming throughout the year. Of the 12 schools in the Southeastern Conference, 10 will replay their 2011 football games by using the exact telecast from the SEC television network partner which had aired the game live, or by integrating their radio broadcast into a television production.
"This is an opportunity to reallocate some resources towards newly focused Gator content,” said Cathy Weeden, General Manager of Gator IMG Sports Marketing. "We appreciate the University Athletic Association's willingness to support this change in approach and know that Gator fans will enjoy hearing the call of Mick Hubert, Lee McGriff and Brady Ackerman."
"We also acknowledge the wonderful job done by David Steele, Nat Moore, and Larry Vettel over the years," Weeden continued. "They are class acts."
Steele had provided by play-by-play on the replays, Moore had served as color analyst, and Vettel had also worked as play-by-play announcer on occasion.
The Gators' lone pay-per-view telecast, to be determined by the SEC later this year, will still feature David Steele and Nat Moore in the booth, and Brady Ackerman on the sidelines. The Florida-Florida State replay will remain unchanged; featuring a split television broadcast crew as in previous years. In addition, if any game during the upcoming season is selected for telecast by the SEC's regional cable partner, FSN, such as the Sept. 10 UAB game, then that telecast will be shown in full as the replay on Breakfast with the Gators.
