Head coach Amanda Butler leads the 2011-12 Gators into their first team practice, scheduled for Sun., Oct. 2 beginning at 5 p.m. on the Terry Frost Women's Basketball Court inside the Basketball Complex.
Butler, who enters her fifth year at the helm of the Florida program, has 11 letterwinners returning from last year's 20-win squad that is aiming for a fifth consecutive postseason berth.
All five starters from last season return to the court, including leading scorer Jordan Jones (Suwanee, Ga.) and top rebounder Azania Stewart (Wood Green, England). Jones and Stewart are two of five seniors on the 2011-12 roster, joined by Deana Allen (Houma, La.), Lanita Bartley (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Ndidi Madu (Antioch, Tenn.).
Standing inside Ben Hill Griffin Football Stadium, Butler shares her insight about the team's first practice and a little about the 2011-12 squad.
