Gymnastics Meet the Team Set for Sunday

Florida fans will have their first chance to meet the 2012 Gator gymnasts at Meet the Team Day on Sunday, Jan. 8. The event will be held at the Ted Crom Gymnastics Studio, located inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Admission is free and the event begins at 1 p.m. Fans should enter the O'Connell Center at Gate 4 for access to the gymnastics studio and doors open at 12:30 p.m.
Fans attending the 'Meet the Team' will receive free admission to Sunday's women's basketball game versus South Carolina, which begins at 2 p.m. also in the O'Connell Center.
The day's program includes the UF gymnasts performing exhibition routines and the coaching staff pointing out skills to look for in the 2012 Gators' routines. The team and coaches will also be available for autographs at the Gate 4 lobby following the event from 2-3 p.m.
Florida is ranked No. 3 in the GymInfo preseason poll and returns four All-Americans from the squad that finished seventh in the 2011 NCAA Championships. Earlier this week, the Gators' five-member freshmen class picked up the No. 1 ranking by CollegeGymFans.com.
Although this is the first chance for Gator fans to see the team in action locally, Florida already is 1-0 this season after its win Friday at North Carolina State. Florida's 2012 home season begins Friday, Jan. 13 with a dual meet versus Illinois-Chicago. Meet time is set for 7 p.m. in the O'Connell Center. Tickets are $4.00 for adults, while children 17 and under plus UF students with ID are admitted free.
Season tickets for the 2012 Gator Gymnastics campaign are available for the low price of $16.00.
