ESPN's College GameDay To Originate From The Swamp Saturday
Sunday, October 14, 2012 | Football
ESPN announced on Sunday that its College GameDay show will emanate from Gainesville next weekend, the site of the Florida-South Carolina game in The Swamp. The Gators (6-0/5-0 SEC) and the Gamecocks (6-1/4-1 SEC) will meet in a key SEC Eastern Division matchup.
Florida will be making its 35th appearance on GameDay, a figure that leads the nation. This will be the program's first appearance in Gainesville since Nov. 28, 2009, a 37-10 Florida victory over Florida State. UF has already appeared twice on the program this season in consecutive weeks, a 20-17 win over Texas A&M in College Station on Sept. 8 and a 37-20 victory over No. 23 Tennessee on Sept. 15 in Knoxville.
Since 1993, College GameDay has been television's definitive and comprehensive college football studio show and has traveled most weeks on college Saturdays to the day's big game and has been met by large and enthusiastic crowds. Hosted by Chris Fowler, GameDay will once again feature Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack during the 10 a.m. – noon hours on ESPN. Samantha Steele joins the first hour on ESPNU with Pollack, and will also contribute reports, interviews and features throughout the final two hours with reporter Tom Rinaldi. The show covers all college football angles, issues and game previews.
