With the tip-off of the 2012-13 NBA regular season on Tuesday, October 30, several former Florida Gators are now back in action on the hardwood. UF currently has 10 former players in the NBA. In the most recent rankings of Division I schools by number of players in the league, the University of Florida ranks eighth.
On opening night, Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller, and the Miami Heat received their NBA Finals championship rings for winning the 2012 NBA Finals. Bradley Beal, a 2012 First Team All-SEC selection, made his professional debut for the Washington Wizards in a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
