Saturday, November 3, 2012 | Baseball
Head coach Kevin O'Sullivan, his coaching staff and members of the Gator Baseball team were recognized in between the first and second quarter of the Florida-Missouri football game in The Swamp on Nov. 3 for its outstanding 2012 campaign in which it became the first team in school history to reach the NCAA College World Series in three-consecutive years.
Last season, the Gators were 47-20 overall and reached Omaha after sweeping the Regionals and Super Regionals held at McKethan Stadium. UF also reached the 40-win plateau for the 21st time in school history and the fourth-straight year. Florida finished among the top 8 within each of the collegiate baseball polls: No. 3 in Baseball America, No. 6 in both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and USA Today/ESPN and No. 7 in Collegiate Baseball. The squad compiled a 3.04 grade point average last spring and welcomed its fourth-consecutive highly-touted recruiting class to campus.
