FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Forward Will Yeguete has been cleared by the team's medical staff to play tonight when the No. 14 Gators (20-6, 8-3) take on the Arkansas Razorbacks (17-9, 5-6) in a key Southeastern Conference game at sold-out Bud Walton Arena.
Yeguete, the 6-foot-7 sophomore from Bordeaux, France, suffered a concussion in the early minutes of last Saturday's home loss to Tennessee and did not travel with the team for Tuesday night's win at Alabama.
In the week since, however, Yeguete passed the required five concussion tests -- each measured against baselines taken in preseason evaluations -- and upon showing no side effects after participating in a full-contact practice Friday was cleared by team doctors to play.
Yeguete is one of the team's leading rebounders at 6.1 per game and his defense, especially at the top of the press, gives the team multiple options because he can guard all five positions on the floor. The extra body will be a big boost against a Razorbacks team that will press the entire game and is unbeaten in 17 tries at home this season.
In other news, reserve junior guard Mike Rosario, who practiced with the team Friday, did not make the trip to Fayetteville and will miss his third straight game. Rosario missed the previous two games with a hip pointer.
