Q: Now that you're an upperclassman and the team has been together for a few years, how do you think the team has grown?
Over the past few years, we have learned a lot about each other both on and off the field which has helped us develop as a team. We now know one another's tendencies on the field and trust what the other person is going to do. As a team we have really come together and are always supporting one another to do our best. We really enjoy being with each other and look forward to another exciting season.
Q: What are your personal goals for the season? What do you see as the team's goals?
As a team we are always looking to improve in all aspects of our game. Whether it be shooting, sliding, or working on the plays; we try to get better each practice so we can work towards success.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being a Florida Lacrosse player?
Being a lacrosse player at Florida is unlike anything else you could experience at another school. The fan base here is so awesome, supportive and growing everyday. It's really cool to know that people love to come out to watch us play and we really appreciate it.
Q: What are some of your favorite non-lacrosse things to do in or around Gainesville?
Even when we are not playing lacrosse, our team is always together hanging out. When it is nice out, we like to go to the pool and enjoy the sun. Since many of us are from up north, we send joking pictures of the pool to our friends to rub it in while they are all shivering in the snow.
Q: What is your favorite memory with your teammates, on or off the field?
The win at home over Northwestern was definitely a top moment for us. They are a powerhouse in the lacrosse world and it just showed us that we could keep up with the best. When the clock hit zero, the scene was unreal. The stands were packed with fans that were going wild and we were all running around and screaming in awe. It was a moment we will never forget, but hope to soon top.
Q: What's your favorite class that you've taken at UF, and why?
I took Entrepreneurship last semester and it was definitely my favorite class I have taken at UF so far. The teacher, Dr. Rossi, was real cool and the class was exciting. It showed how you could take an ordinary idea and tweak it to make it extraordinary. I found the concept of being an entrepreneur and being your own boss a fun idea.
Q: What do you want to do after you graduate?
I have some ideas floating around, but nothing serious yet. I would really love to travel after college and see the rest of the world. I have to figure out how to finance the trip first though… … Mom I know you're reading this… .
Q: If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I have been fortunate to be able to travel to a lot of cool places over the years like Hawaii, China, Italy, and France. My next trip I'm thinking is either going to be Australia or the Greek Islands. I heard Australians are really nice and a lot of fun, and the Greek Islands are apparently one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Q: What is your favorite tv show?
My favorite show right now is How I Met Your Mother. Neil Patrick Harris is one of the funniest people on tv and always has me laughing. The show is super entertaining.
Q: Top 5-10 most-played songs on your iPod:
Thanks to some of my teammates I have become a huge country fan since coming to Florida, so I mostly listen to that everyday. Some of my favorites are:
Wagon Wheel – Old Crow Medicine Show
Good Directions – Billy Curington
Rain is a Good Thing – Luke Bryan
Knee Deep –Zac Brown Band
Q: What has been the key to integrating the new players into this team that's been together since the beginning?
All of the new players have jumped right in and have fit into the team really comfortably. We luckily have months of practice before season starts, so they all get a lot of repetition. They all picked up what was going on pretty fast and we are really excited to have them all for this season
