Yeguete Named to 2012 SEC Men's Basketball Community Service Team
Monday, March 5, 2012 | Men's Basketball
Sophomore forward Will Yeguete (Bourdeaux, France) has been named to the 2012 SEC Men's Basketball Community Service Team. During his time in Gainesville, Yeguete has volunteered with his Gator teammates for a number of community events.
At the Climb for Cancer Foundation's Brandon Ling Memorial Sports Camp, Yeguete and other UF student-athletes spent time with cancer patients and their siblings doing fun activities, taking pictures and signing autographs. This past Thanksgiving, Yeguete assisted in a food drive where he and several other Gators helped unload, pack, reload and distribute food to feed over 500 needy and homeless families in Gainesville and the surrounding communities. Additionally, Yeguete has also taken time out of his busy season to visit children at Shands Hospital throughout his time in Gainesville.
Yeguete joins a great group of past Gators to be honored as part of the team. Other Florida honorees from past seasons include Chandler Parsons (2011), Dan Werner (2010), Walter Hodge (2008 and 2009), Lee Humphrey (2006 and 2007), David Lee (2004 and 2005), Matt Bonner (2001, 2002 and 2003), Brent Wright (2000) and Patrick O'Connor (1999).
