Three Florida Signees to Compete in 2012 Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic

Three high school seniors from Florida's incoming class of 12 were named Under Armour High School All-Americans this afternoon, as announced by Under Armour, Inc. and Corrigan Sports Enterprises, Inc. Eighty-eight of the nation's top boys and girls high school seniors have been selected to the sports' highest honor and will play in the seventh annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic on Saturday, June 30 at Towson University's Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md. Opening draw for the girls game is scheduled for 5 p.m., followed by the boys game at 8 p.m. The boys game will air live on ESPNU.
Attacker Darcy Messina (Sayville, N.Y.) was named to the Girls North Team, while midfielders Sam Darcangelo (Freeland, Md.) and Devon Schneider (Lititz, Pa.) will play for the Girls South team. The three future Gators join 11 current Florida lacrosse players as Under Armour High School All-Americans, including seven juniors and four freshmen. The University of North Carolina men's lacrosse program ties the event record with eight of its incoming recruits earning All-America honors. The Duke University women's team leads all women's teams with five of its incoming freshmen making the list.

The Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic also includes the Underclassmen Elite Stars tournament that will feature the top underclass boys and girls players from 10 regions across the country. The three-day Elite Stars tournament culminates Sunday, July 1 with the girls and boys finals at 3:30 p.m. on the fields surrounding Unitas Stadium.
