Azania Stewart scored eight points and collected one offensive rebound while battling WNBA MVP center Lauren Jackson and Australia, the reigning Olympic silver medalists, which proved to be too strong for Great Britain, a team making its first ever appearance in the Olympic Games. Great Britain fell 74-58 in their Olympic debut played at the Basketball Arena in London.
Stewart played nine minutes in the first half, when she was saddled with two fouls, but did net four points and drew three fouls against her.
