After months of hype leading up to the London Olympics, it didn't take long for former Gators swimmer and Gainesville resident Ryan Lochte to back up his “it's my time” claim.
In his first head-to-head showdown with 2008 Olympic hero Michael Phelps, Lochte blew away his rival and the rest of the field to capture gold in the 400 individual medley on Saturday in the first full day of competition on Saturday.
