The Florida Players Network made it official on Saturday morning. The group of former UF football players has accepted Florida head coach Will Muschamp as one of their own.

Following Florida's scrimmage on Saturday morning at The Swamp, Muschamp and several of his assistants made an appearance at a barbecue for former players in the Touchdown Terrace at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
After speaking for a few minutes and taking several questions, Muschamp was set to depart. That's when former Gators receiver Chris Doering, president of the FPN, took the microphone.
Doering shared the newly created organization's mission to help former UF football players in need and then told the crowd that Muschamp helped their cause earlier this year by making a personal financial contribution.
In return, Doering gave the former Georgia Bulldog safety a special plaque on Saturday to honor Muschamp as the FPN's newest member.
“As we know you spent four or five years up in Athens, but you're here now and one of us, so welcome to the Florida Players Network,'' Doering said.
