COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Gators had a 10:30 p.m. curfew (all times EDT) here at their hotel, so it's pretty quiet right now as the team prepares to face Texas A&M on Saturday.
The Gators left Gainesville around 2:30 Friday and landed in Texas less than two hours later. They stopped by Kyle Field for a 15-minute walk-through before arriving at the team hotel.
Once at the hotel, the team had dinner at 6:30, a chapel service at 7:30, and offensive/defensive meetings at 8. At 8:30 they gathered to watch a short movie named "Battlefield" before a snack.
Shortly after returning to the hotel from dinner with UAA staff, I bumped into several players in the elevator, including cornerback Cody Riggs and receiver Frankie Hammond.
Their snack -- an ice cream sundae.
The Gators will start their Saturday with a 7:45 a.m. wake-up call and then a team-walk around the hotel 15 minutes later. They are set to eat breakfast once the walk is over and then break into meetings.
The Gators are scheduled to depart for Kyle Field at 12:30 for the 3:30 kickoff.
Hammond, Trey Burton, Jon Bostic and Texas native Omarius Hines will serve as captains.
Hines grew up in Corsicana, Texas, about 130 miles north of College Station.
