
Gators in the NFL ? Week Seven Update

Twenty-one former Gators were active week seven of the NFL season. Of those 21, 11 started for their respective teams. Former Gator Jon Bostic made his first professional start for the Chicago Bears and tied for a team-leading eight tackles, six solo, against the Washington Redskins.

BALTIMORE RAVENS
Matt Elam – Made the start at FS and had three tackles, all solo, one TFL and recovered a fumble for seven yards.
Deonte Thompson – Saw action at WR but did not record a stat.
CINCINNATI BENGALS
Carlos Dunlap – Made the start at LDE and had five tackles, three solo, two QB hits and a blocked FG, which was recovered by teammate and former Gator Reggie Nelson.
Reggie Nelson – Started at FS, recording four tackles, three solo, one QB hit, one pass breakup and one tackle on special teams. Nelson recovered the FG that was blocked by Dunlap.
CHICAGO BEARS
Major Wright – Started at SS and had eight tackles, five solo.
Jon Bostic – Made his first professional start for the Bears at MLB and tied for a team-leading eight tackles, six solo.
CLEVELAND BROWNS
Joe Haden – Started at LCB and recorded three tackles, all solo.
DENVER BRONCOS
Andre Caldwell – Saw action at WR and recorded two tackles on special teams.
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Jeremy Mincey – Was not active in week seven.
Josh Evans – Made his fourth-consecutive pro start at FS and contributed with nine tackles, eight solo.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Jaye Howard – Was not active in week seven.
MIAMI DOLPHINS
Mike Pouncey – Started at C and had one tackle against the Bills.
Mike Gillislee – Was not active in week seven.
Caleb Sturgis – Went 0-1 in FG attempts, missing a 51-yarder.
Jelani Jenkins – Saw action at LB and recorded three tackles, all solo.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Sharrif Floyd – Saw action at DT and returned a kick for nine yards.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Brandon Spikes – Made the start at LB and had a team-leading 11 tackles, six solo with one TFL.
NEW YORK GIANTS
Will Hill – Saw action at S and had four tackles, all solo, with one QB hit.
Louis Murphy – Saw action at WR but did not record a stat.
NEW YORK JETS
David Nelson – Made the start at WR and had four receptions for 80 yards with a long of 20 yards.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Riley Cooper – Started at WR against the Cowboys and led the Eagles with six receptions for 88 yards.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Marcus Gilbert – Made the start at RT in week seven.
Maurkice Pouncey – Suffered a season-ending torn ACL and MCL during the Steelers' opening possession of their season opener.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
Ray McDonald – Started at LDT and recorded one solo tackle and one QB hit.
Jermaine Cunningham – Was not active in week seven.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Percy Harvin – Was not active week seven due to injury.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Jeff Demps – Was not active in week seven.
WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Rex Grossman – Was not active in week seven.
Maurice Hurt – Was not active in week seven.
