Patric Young Named Senior CLASS Award Candidate
Wednesday, October 30, 2013 | Men's Basketball
Senior center Patric Young has been named a candidate for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award, as announced by the committee this morning.
Young is a part of a prestigious group of 60 NCAA men's and women's basketball student-athletes who excel on and off the court.
To eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as a NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their community.
The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2014 NCAA Men's Final Four. The men's candidate class of 30 will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot.
