AT THE BUZZER -
Wisconsin 59, Florida 53
WHAT IT MEANS: Winning at Kohl Center was going to be a tall order. The Gators, with their roster depleted by a trio of suspended players, would have had to play spectacularly on both ends and wire to wire. They did not. The Badgers improved to 182-18 at Kohl under Coach Bo Ryan, including 91-7 against non-conference opponents.
IN THE SPOTLIGHT: For the Gators, it was sophomore guard Michael Frazier. He led all scorers with 20 points, going 7-for-11 from the floor and 5-for-7 from 3-point line. The rest of his teammates went a combined 12-for-36. Freshman point guard Kasey Hill, in his first road game, finished with four points, five assists and two turnovers before fouling out in the final two minutes.
STAGGERING STATISTIC: Florida's two opponents thus far have shot 40.9 percent (18 for 44) from the 3-point line. This will be a continuing storyline until it is corrected. The coaching staff will make it one.
SUBPLOT: Wisconsin sophomore forward Sam Dekker, who played for Billy Donovan's USA U-18 that won a gold medal two summers ago in Brazil, led the Badgers with 16 points.
UP NEXT: The Gators (1-1) return home to face Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday at the O'Connell Center. Tipoff is 4:30 p.m.
