Gators Add Transfer Alex Murphy

Florida has added 6-foot-9 forward Alex Murphy as a transfer from Duke University. Murphy, a redshirt sophomore this season, is the younger brother of Erik Murphy, who helped UF to the 2013 SEC Championship and is now with the Chicago Bulls.

“We're excited about having Alex join our team,” head coach Billy Donovan said. “We obviously know his family well and look forward to having Alex here.”

Murphy played 35 games at Duke, averaging 1.9 points per game. He scored in double figures twice as a freshman, tallying 10 points vs. Delaware and a career-best 11 against Miami.
