
Havana Solaun heads to Spain for three matches with U.S. Under-23 National Soccer Team

Rising Gator junior Havana Solaun (Gainesville, Fla./ Buchholz H.S.) departs Friday for Spain to play in three matches with the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Soccer Team.
The U.S. plays U-23 sides from Norway on Feb. 28, Sweden on March 2 and finishes up the four-team tournament against England on March 4. The matches will be played in La Manga, Spain.
“I'm looking forward to this opportunity,” Solaun said. “To be able to represent the U.S. and the Gators for the U.S. is really exciting.”
Solaun was second among the 2012 Gators with 22 points and eight assists plus shared second with seven goals. In the 2012 Southeastern Conference Tournament, Solaun turned in seven points in the final two matches, with a goal and an assist in the semifinal versus Missouri and a goal and pair of assists in UF's 3-0 win over Auburn in the final.
She was also part of the 2010 U.S. U-17 National Team, representing the U.S. at CONCACAF U-17 Women's Championship in Costa Rica.
