Since October of 2012, Shisler has participated in more than 26 hours of community service. Last fall, Shisler was a counselor at the Climb for Cancer Sports Camp, a morning when Gator student-athletes plays games and activities with children fighting cancer. At last October's Gainesville American Cancer Society's Eighth Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, Shisler and the rest of the Gator gymnastics team served as volunteers, handing out drinks, medals and pink ribbons as the walkers finished the course. She also made several visits to the Shands Pediatric ward to help patients create syringe art as part of the Caleb's Pitch program.
Shisler was a counselor at last fall's Harvest Food Drive clinic, a gymnastics skills event for young gymnasts. Admission for the event is five canned goods, which were collected for Gainesville's Bread of the Mighty Food Bank Inc. Shisler participated in Gator Tracks, a program that UF student-athletes purchase and then deliver new shoes to children who need them. Gator Tracks provided more than 450 pairs of shoes and socks in 2012.
Shisler also joined the Gator gymnastics team as they provided a meal to Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge residents in January of 2013. The Hope Lodge is a residence for cancer patients to stay while being treated at UF's Shands Hospital.
