
Sydney Moss Named to WNIT All-Tournament Team

University of Florida freshman Sydney Moss (Union, Ky.) earned a spot on the 2013 WNIT All-Tournament Team that was named Saturday evening at the conclusion of the championship game where host Drexel defeated Utah, 46-43.
The Gators advanced to the semifinals of the 64-team event, falling to Drexel, 67-57 on April 2 in Philadelphia. Florida (22-15) won four games on the road to advance to the WNIT semifinals, defeating FIU, 75-68, on March 21 in the first round, topping Winthrop, 85-53, on March 25 in the second round and earning a thrilling 67-65 win at Charlotte on March 27 in the round of 16 and James Madison, 85-80, on March 31.
During the Gator's five-game WNIT run, Moss led the team in scoring (19.6 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg), while shooting 57.1 percent (44-77) from the floor. The 5-11 forward tallied three 20-point games during the WNIT that included a career-best 28 points in the opening round win.
Four of UF's five WNIT games were decided by 10 points or less, including the last three games which featured a combined 29 lead changes and 17 tied scores. Overall, 21 of the Gator's program-record 37 games were decided by 10 points or less during the 2012-13 campaign.
Florida capped its season, the sixth under head coach Amanda Butler, having reached the semifinals of a national postseason tournament for the second time in program history.
