BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Gators baseball team will try to keep its season alive today against Valparaiso here in the second round of the Bloomington Regional.
Both teams are coming off late-inning losses on Friday.
Florida suffered a 4-3 defeat to Austin Peay when Governors designated hitter Michael Davis connected for a three-run homer off reliever Ryan Harris in the eighth inning.
The Crusaders lost in even more heartbreaking fashion.
Facing No. 1-seed Indiana, Valparaiso led throughout until Chad Clark hit his first home run of the season -- a two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth -- to cap the Hoosiers' four-run rally for a 5-4 win.
The loser of today's game will go home while the winner will face the loser of today's Indiana-Austin Peay game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
