Two members of the University of Florida men's golf team were named to the 2012-13 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll earlier this week. Allin Crouch (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Conor Richardson (West Palm Beach, Fla), both Social and Behavioral Sciences majors, represented the Gators on the prestigious freshman list.
A total of 56 University of Florida student-athletes were awarded the honor by the league, which uses grades from the 2012-13 academic year.
Other credentials that go in to the selection process of the award include: each student-athlete must 1) have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship or a letterwinner; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
