The total gives Florida 62 Academic All-SEC recipients in six years under the direction of head coach Kevin O'Sullivan and the dozen honorees were the most for the program since 2008, when 17 individuals were recognized.
Senior Cody Dent (Boynton Beach, Fla.) made his third appearance on the league's Honor Roll, junior Keenan Kish (Worcester, Pa.) was honored for the second time, while sophomore Mike Fahrman (Tampa, Fla.), sophomore Taylor Gushue (Boca Raton, Fla.), junior Todd Haskel (Palm Harbor, Fla.), sophomore Johnny Magliozzi (East Milton, Mass.), redshirt sophomore Zack Powers (Seffner, Fla.), sophomore Bobby Poyner (Wellington, Fla.), redshirt freshman Cory Reid (Port St. Lucie, Fla.), sophomore Justin Shafer (Lake Wales, Fla.), sophomore Corey Stump (Lakeland, Fla.) and sophomore Josh Tobias (Greensboro, N.C.) were first-time recipients. Poyner, Reid, Shafer, Stump and Tobias were named to the 2012 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.
The 2013 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2012 Summer, 2012 Fall and 2013 Spring terms.
Any student-athlete who participates in a SEC championship sport or a student-athlete who participates in a sport listed on his/her institution's NCAA Sports Sponsorship Form is eligible for nomination to the Academic Honor Roll.
